RAELYNN – WCOL Country Jam 2015 Featuring – ERIC CHURCH @ Legend Valley Music Center
Sep 4 @ 5:00 pm

Realynn

WCOL’s youngest artist to perform at this year’s Country Jam is RaeLynn. Born and raised in Texas, RaeLynn got her break competing in the second season of NBC’s The Voice. Although not the winner of the competition, RaeLynn’s performance garnered the attention of both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. After choosing to work with Blake Shelton, RaeLynn continued her success with the show, until her highly debated elimination in the quarterfinals. Since her appearance on the show, RaeLynn has released an EP and several singles like the popular song “God Made Girls” while touring with Shelton’s wife Miranda Lambert. She is currently working on the release of her debut album. RaeLynn is a great example of diversity, in both gender and age, of the artists performing at this year’s Country Jam!

The two- day festival will be hosted at the historic Legend Valley Concert Venue and Campground located on Buckeye Lake, just thirty minutes east of downtown Columbus. 2015 will mark the 3rd year that WCOL Country Jam has taken place at the venue. The festival is packed with a multitude of country music acts from classic country, southern rock country, and modern country artists.

General Admission tickets are currently available. There are several camping options available to patrons. Tickets and camping passes are on-sale now and available at www.LegendValleyFestivals.com. Camping passes are sold separately.

The WCOL Country Jam is a country festival that has occurred annually for the last 10 years. In 2013, WCOL and Bluestone Promotions formed a partnership to bring the show to the Legend Valley Music Center, a historic venue located near Buckeye Lake in Thornville, Ohio. Previous years included performers Hank Williams Jr., Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan and Tim McGraw. The venue boasts acres of campgrounds and a large field with great views of the stage. Legend Valley Music Center has functioned as a music venue since the early 1970’s, but has undergone some name changes since that time. LVMC has hosted a multitude of artists including: The Charlie Daniels Band, The Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Alabama, Journey, and Jimmy Buffett.

WCOL‘s next up and coming country music star is Georgia born Thomas Rhett! His debut album It Goes Like This released at the end of 2013, sold over 200,000 copies and spawned several successful singles such as “Get Me Some of That”, “Something to Do With My Hands”, and the chart topping hit “It Goes Like This”. Following the release and success of his album, Rhett embarked upon a massive tour across the country, stopping in Columbus at The Bluestone in 2013. Rhett was recently nominated for ACM‘s New Artist of the Year, with the awards ceremony taking place in April and has made headlines with his country covers of popular Bruno Mars singles. Rhett returns to Ohio this summer for WCOL‘s Country Jam at Legend Valley to once again rock Ohio!

The New York Times declares “…in the emergent field of gentleman country — an antidote to the bros of the last few years — William Michael Morgan stands tall.” The praise continues with his debut album VINYL, being hailed as a “sturdy, reflective debut album….a throwback to the temperate wisdom of midcareer George Strait.” The record, which opened in the Top 5 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart, has landed him on countless year-end best album lists, including Rolling Stone, iTunes and Saving Country Music. His breakout mega-hit “I Met A Girl” has earned top song of the year nods from Billboard and NPR. The song topped charts and has garnered over a billion audience impressions, including over 25 million on-demand streams. Morgan recently released the title track as his third single. The tune harkens back to yesteryear with a modern twist.

Chase Rice first climbed charts as a co-writer of Florida Georgia Line’s monster hit “Cruise,” the historic 24-week No. 1 that perched atop the Billboard Hot Country Chart longer than any other song in the chart’s then-69-year history. In 2014, Rice broke through as an artist: Ignite the Night yielded Top 5 singles “Ready, Set, Roll” and “Gonna Wanna Tonight,” which he followed in 2017 with the acclaimed Lambs & Lions before ultimately earning his first No. 1 single as an artist, 2019’s two-week chart-topper “Eyes On You.”

With a decade invested in a genre that’s seen him record with George Jones, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Mickey Raphael, the Cox Family, Ben Haggard, Dan Tyminski, and producer Buddy Cannon, he has claimed two #1 Billboard Country Album debuts for his albums Town Line and Sinner. Lewis’ single “Am I The Only One,” debuted on Billboard’s #1 Hot Country Song,” only the time a debut has topped the chart since 1958. The hard-touring, workingman’s star’s latest album Frayed at Both Ends was released in January of 2022, his most personal and unplugged work.

About Maddie & Tae

Award-winning duo Maddie & Tae are drawing praise for their No. 1 debuting The Way It Feels album release with Rolling Stone saying the new music is “anchored around their stellar vocal pairings and some of the tightest harmonies on Music Row.” Together as longtime friends and music collaborators, Maddie Font and Taylor Kerr co-wrote 14 of the album’s 15 tracks including the Platinum-certified No. 1 country radio hit, “Die From A Broken Heart,” which Esquire calls “their finest moment yet.” The pair also co-wrote two brand new holiday songs to join a collection of classics for their first ever holiday project- We Need Christmas.

Maddie & Tae first broke out in 2013 with their brilliant counter to bro-country, the Platinum-selling smash, “Girl In A Country Song,” which took Country radio by storm, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and quickly going PLATINUM. The duo became only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts, also earning trophies from the Country Music Academy and Radio Disney Music Awards along with multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Award nominations. Maddie & Tae have received widespread praise from Associated Press, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, NPR, The Tennessean, The Washington Post, Glamour and others. The celebrated duo has toured with country music’s hottest stars including Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley and more.
