This year marks the 4th anniversary of the ACM Lifting Lives Club Benefit Concert, an annual event that supports ACM Lifting Lives mission to improve lives through the power of music. Since 2011, ACM Lifting Lives has partnered with Lifting Lives Board Member Ed Warm, owner of Joe’s Bar in Chicago, to coordinate benefit concerts with artists such as LeAnn Rimes, Gary Allan, and Lee Brice. Our partnership with Ed and Joe’s Bar successfully raised over $30,000 and spurred our 2014 “Club Benefit Show Run” in which clubs throughout the country replicated the Joe’s Bar model of the ACM Lifting Lives Benefit Concert. After growing up and attending college in Arkansas, Lawrence moved to Nashville where he began performing at local clubs, eventually catching his big break and being signed to Atlantic Records. Since then, Lawrence has been one of country music’s highest selling artists, releasing nine records and continuing to tour across the US for over 20 years. With 13 million albums sold, 18 number one songs on the Billboard Country chart, this ACM and CMA award winning artist is sure to make The Bluestone his next conquered audience!
With a voice as rich as the mid-western soil he was raised on, Patoka, IL native, Drew Baldridge’s music reflects small town life while living large on the simple things. “ Sherwood, Arkansas native David Adam Byrnes is rooted in the kind of tradition that audiences can’t deny. It’s in the 27-year-old’s genuine southern drawl, his natural gravitation toward a loud, rowdy honky-tonk stage – it’s in the unmistakable sincerity of his lyrics. With strong pride for his country and a loving devotion to his family, this good ole’ boy from The Natural State is just that – natural – and is poised to make a lasting impression on country music. Byrnes heard the call of Music City as a teenager and as the aspiring star’s work fruition arose on graduation day, Byrnes opened for one of the world’s honky-tonk masters, Hank Williams Jr., which inevitably mapped-out and fueled Byrnes’ journey to Nashville, Tennessee.
Soon after arriving, Byrnes’ talents landed him his first publishing/artist deal with Better AngelsMusic Group and led to the young star’s debut launch of his full-length album, Premium Country. The record’s flirtatious lead-off single, “Sweet Distraction” (Josh Thompson/Andi Zack), was released in late 2010 to select digital outlets and ranks as the highest charting debut indie single of 2010(Country Breakout Chart).

CMA and Grammy award-winning country band, The Charlie Daniels Band, will perform live at The Bluestone on Thursday, April 30th, 2015. Charlie Daniels, born and raised in North Carolina, began playing the fiddle and guitar in several bands throughout his young adult life. At the age of 21 he decided to pursue a professional career in music. Daniels assembled his first rock and roll group named, The Jaguars. There was very little success with The Jaguars but Daniels continued to write songs including, One of “It Hurts Me”, which was recorded by Elvis Presley in 1963. In the late 60’s Daniels opted out of The Jaguars and after much practice, became one of the best fiddlers in Nashville, TN. He would focus his fiddle playing on the current day hits, including a lot of top songs from Bob Dylan, his popularity soared.
Mid 70’s was the year for his new band, The Charlie Daniels Band. After a run with the Southern Rock style, Charlie then decided to lean more towards a country music band, ultimately it was a career changing choice. Shortly after this decision, the single, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, was released. It went straight to the number one spot and crossed over on to the pop charts at a number three spot. This song was named the Country Music Association’s Single of the Year. After this hit was released, their next album, Million Mile Reflections, became a multi-platinum success.

Michigan born Jana Kramer was formerly a television star on the MTV hit show One Tree Hill as Alex Dupre before pursuing country music. Initially pursuing acting, Kramer began steadily recording and releasing music while working on One Tree Hill. She has released one album, self-titled, which included several singles, including the top ten hit, “Why Ya Wanna”. She is currently working on her follow-up album.

WCOL’s youngest artist to perform at this year’s Country Jam is RaeLynn. Born and raised in Texas, RaeLynn got her break competing in the second season of NBC’s The Voice. Although not the winner of the competition, RaeLynn’s performance garnered the attention of both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. After choosing to work with Blake Shelton, RaeLynn continued her success with the show, until her highly debated elimination in the quarterfinals. Since her appearance on the show, RaeLynn has released an EP and several singles like the popular song “God Made Girls” while touring with Shelton’s wife Miranda Lambert. She is currently working on the release of her debut album. RaeLynn is a great example of diversity, in both gender and age, of the artists performing at this year’s Country Jam!
The two- day festival will be hosted at the historic Legend Valley Concert Venue and Campground located on Buckeye Lake, just thirty minutes east of downtown Columbus. 2015 will mark the 3rd year that WCOL Country Jam has taken place at the venue. The festival is packed with a multitude of country music acts from classic country, southern rock country, and modern country artists.

In 2013, WCOL and Bluestone Promotions formed a partnership to bring the show to the Legend Valley Music Center, a historic venue located near Buckeye Lake in Thornville, Ohio. Previous years included performers Hank Williams Jr., Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan and Tim McGraw. The venue boasts acres of campgrounds and a large field with great views of the stage. Legend Valley Music Center has functioned as a music venue since the early 1970’s, but has undergone some name changes since that time. LVMC has hosted a multitude of artists including: The Charlie Daniels Band, The Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Alabama, Journey, and Jimmy Buffett.
Another WCOL Country Jam artist that is sure to impress attendees is Aaron Lewis. Raised in Massachusetts, Lewis is a founding member of the rock band Staind, collectively selling over fifteen million albums and with whom he still tours and records music with. Having performed music alone, even when in a band, Lewis began recording country music in 2010, with his first EP, Town Line, being released the following year. In 2012, he released his first full-length solo album, The Road, which featured the hit single “Grandaddy’s Gun”. Known for his passionate vocal delivery and poignant songwriting, Aaron Lewis will undoubtedly be a highlight of the festival. Outshyne is a country band who hales from South Carolina. Their music has a country feel with rock overtones. Originally formed in 2007, of high school friends playing after work. In 2010 they turned their passion for music into a full time endeavor, doing 150-180 dates a year. Since then their success keeps growing!
They have opened for country music superstars including, Jake Owen, Eric Church, Lee Brice, Colt Ford, Joe Nichols, Gary Allen, and Justin Moore to name a few, Waylon sang the National Anthem at the Nascar Sprint Cup in Darlington, SC in 2013, raised over $130,000 for Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and played on the Hard Rock stage for CMA Fest.
Their first single “Dirt Road Romance“, written by friends Florida Georgia Line and Albis Albritton, went to #29 on the Music Row Chart and #46 on the Billboard Indicator Chart. The album titled “Starting Over” was produced by Grammy nominated Chip Matthews and hit song writer Jeffrey Steele, and debuted #11 on iTunes the day it was released.
The bands second single “Moonlight Crush” is currently at #24 on the Music Row Chart and #40 on the Billboard Indicator, and is being played on Sirius/XM “the Highway”. The two singles combined have over 100,000 downloads and over 1 million youtube views.
In January, 2014, Outshyne signed with Sony Red, and are featured on CMT’s website.

Ask Chris Cagle what’s most important to him and you can bet he’ll answer this way: “Family, ranch, music. That’s it.” This response is seemingly simple for a man whose professional credits include two gold albums, two No. 1 albums and 12 charted songs. From 2000-2008, Cagle released an almost nonstop catalog of hits that resulted in a scorching hot career. Cagle’s musical character and burning ambition never wavered but today, Cagle’s personal perspective has mellowed. 2012′s forthcoming album is, in more ways than one, a new lease on life.
Born in DeRidder, La., and raised “all over,” Chris set off for Nashville after trying his hand at college in Texas and finding the pull to pursue music too strong to ignore. Like many young artists, he spent several years working odd jobs in Nashville and scraping up enough cash to record four original songs for a demo tape. Thanks to a couple of chance meetings and the opportunity to be heard by Scott Hendricks, Chris was signed to Virgin Records in 2000 – that first album featured the unaltered version of his demo songs.
