“Maybe I’m addicted to pain…What used to be, what’s gone.
There’s definitely some darkness,
but it’s hard to explain, though everybody knows it.
“Probably I’m a hopeless romantic,
but sex can make that complicated, too.
“You know you want to be in love, but that’s a tricky thing to find.”

Tyler Farr’s a thinker, an observer of the human condition, a man in the middle of a surging testosterone country movement in today’s Nashville who insists on digging a little deeper, getting a little realer and owning how hard it can be. On Suffer In Peace, the son of a Garden City, Missouri farmer opens his veins and examines the pain that comes from being truly engaged with living.

From the wracked hangover of what you don’t see coming in love “Withdrawals,” the smoky acoustic “I Don’t Even Want This Beer” or the spare run-from-the-memories title track, the classically-trained vocalist knows that love isn’t just hard, it’s risky. With a resonant tenor that has a powdery bottom and a warm center, Farr heats up difficult emotions and peels back what most men barricade behind bravado.

Tyler Farr is from Garden City, Missouri and attended Missouri State University for voice. He is a real life country success story coming from a farm family and making it in Nashville. He represents all things honky-tonk as a whiskey loving and tractor truck driving redneck who achieved the American music dream.

He is a class act telling the stories of heart break and good times through songs like “C.O.U.N.T.R.Y”, “Our Town”, “Better in Boots” and “Whiskey in My Water”. His first album, Redneck Crazy, debuted in 2013 and featured singles “Hot Mess” and “Hello Goodbye”. His second album, Suffer in Peace, was released in 2015 and included “A Guys Walks Into a Bar” and “Withdrawals”.

Eli Young Band

Eli Young Band Will Perform Live at The Bluestone

This is an All Ages Show

Three Great Artist one Night of Music!!

Eli Young Band

Somewhere in the midst of 10,000 towns, along a lonely highway between packing clubs in their native Texas years ago and more recently performing stadiums on one of country music’s hottest tours, the Eli Young Band became more than a band. They became a brotherhood. Camaraderie and creativity fused into an intoxicating cocktail that has propelled the talented foursome to the vanguard of contemporary country music.

With three No. 1 hits under their belt as well as a Grammy nomination and an Academy of Country Music Award for Song of the Year for their hit “Crazy Girl,” the Eli Young Band approached their second Republic Nashville album, 10,000 Towns, with a sense of confidence and purpose. “We were genuinely excited about making this new record,” says bassist Jon Jones. “People talk about the sophomore record being really tough to make and in a lot of ways this felt like our sophomore record even though it’s technically our fifth record as a band.”

“We learned over the progression of those records our strong points in the studio, and we were confident,” adds drummer Chris Thompson, “We knew what we wanted and how to get what we wanted.”

LOCASH

It’s an exciting time to be LOCASH these days. That might very well be one of the biggest understatements in Nashville. Already in their career, the duo of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas have enjoyed hit singles, sold-out concert appearances here and abroad, and have tasted the top of the chart as two of Nashville’s quickest-rising songwriters. But, to quote the old saying… You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.

Recently signed to Reviver Records, the duo is joining forces with some of the biggest names on the Country Music business landscape. Brust says they could feel the team’s energy from the first meeting. “We haven’t felt an energy like this since the day we began our journey. This feels like it has all come together –the right label head, the right promo team, it finally feels like we’ve got all of our ducks in a row for the first time in our lives. We’ve been out there doing the grass roots thing for so long, and to feel it all come together, is so encouraging.

Musidine Bloodline

Unapologetically Alabama.  There’s a new force making major waves in country music. Natives of Mobile Alabama, Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster came together to form Muscadine Bloodline in early 2016.  With three single releases under their belt and a schedule full of shows spanning from coast to coast, they’ve hit the ground running from day 1. Nashville took notice the first time these two stepped on the stage and it’s no surprise the rest of the music world is quickly catching on. Charlie’s [contemporary] vocals complimented by Gary’s harmonies and masterful guitar licks, MB is a powerfully refreshing mix of talent, passion and unfiltered authenticity.  Infamously undaunted by the big stage, their sound intertwines the brash irreverence of early southern rockers with the seductive quality of 90s country love songs. Captivating hooks heard in songs like “Porch Swing Angel” and the aggressively anthemic “Shut Your Mouth” stand as a testament to MB’s wide ranging music-making capability. Every song and every show is a moving experience but at the same time, unmistakably Muscadine Bloodline.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
2017 has been a breakout year for the newcomer Detroit singer/songwriter, Quinn XCII. With his ability to seamlessly blur the lines between pop, electronic, hip-hop, and soul music, he has quickly paved his own lane with his unique sound.

An early mixtape release turned heads, but it was his debut EP Change of Scenery, released in 2015, that put Quinn XCII on the map, connecting with the blogosphere and snaring millions of online streams. His follow-up EP release, Bloom, cemented his ability to meld styles and write about more varied subject matter. Next it was his featured vocals on “Kings of Summer”, a collaboration with longtime friend and producer ayokay (with whom he also exclusively worked with on his first two EPs), that started to bring him to the mainstream. The song became the sleeper summer hit of 2016, reaching #1 on Spotify’s Global Viral Charts, #1 on HypeMachine, accumulating over 65 million plays on Spotify, and getting regular spins at Top 40 radio around the country.

Quinn XCII’s debut album The Story of Us, was released on September 15 via Columbia Records. The album debuted at #6 on iTunes’ Pop Chart and is led by his standout single “Straightjacket,” which was named SoundCloud’s “Song of the Month” and has accumulated more than 23 million streams on Spotify. After selling out his entire 28-city national headline tour this Fall in support of the album, he will kick off 2018 by touring the album throughout Europe and across North America again this Spring.

The Cadillac Three

The Cadillac Three LIVE at The Bluestone

THE CADILLAC THREE

It may be a ballsy move for The Cadillac Three to name their new album LEGACY, but if any country band has the shared history to lay claim to such a weighty title, it’s the longhaired trio of Nashville natives.

Singer-guitarist Jaren Johnston, drummer Neil Mason and lap-steel player Kelby Ray have known one another since they were teens and have been sharing stages together for nearly 15 years. This summer, they’ll headline their hometown’s most famous venue, the Ryman Auditorium, just a few blocks from where Johnston and Ray sat in high-school math class daydreaming about one day playing the legendary hall. Johnston’s connection to the Ryman goes back even further: his father has been a drummer at the Grand Ole Opry since Jaren was a child. And now he has a son of his own, who, like his old man, will be well-versed in all the sounds that make up both Music City and The Cadillac Three, from country and blues to rock & roll.

So, yeah, “legacy” looks good on this band.

“We’re trying to build something and do it our way, which is always harder,” says Johnston. “If you’re going to leave something that people are actually going to remember, you can’t take the easy way. So we took all of our history, mixed it with the energy of The Cadillac Three and put it into a record that makes sense of where we’ve been and where we’re going.”

After nearly a full year on the road in support of 2016’s BURY ME IN MY BOOTS, their first full-length album recorded for Big Machine Records, the group returns with a more mature perspective. Johnston, Mason and Ray have experienced a lot on tour, whether opening arenas across the country on Florida Georgia Line’s Dig Your Roots Tour or headlining their own consistently sold-out string of sweaty club and theater shows in the U.K. and Europe. As they prepare to head back in November for another big run, for The Cadillac Three, the old saying really is true: this band is huge overseas.

“Europe showed us that we should bet on ourselves. It was a big gamble the first time we went over there,” says Mason, “but the shows and the fans have continued to grow.”

“And going overseas reinforced that we wanted to get more music out more quickly,” adds Ray. “They go through singles really quickly over there. They want more, more, more and that encouraged us to go into the studio, knock this album out and keep going.”

All that travel, from city to state, country to continent, could decimate a lesser band, but it only served to creatively inspire the mighty TC3. They wrote many of the 11 songs that make upLEGACY on the road, cut the tracks on rare days off in Nashville and then recorded all of Johnston’s vocals – one of the most “country” voices in the genre – in the back lounge of their bus in between shows, adding a crackling sense of vitality to LEGACY. They also produced the album themselves.

“We knew what we wanted to do with this record. Instead of putting it together in bits and pieces, we started with a batch of songs and then picked a single,” Johnston says. “That’s how this shit should be done.”

That back-to-basics approach to making music yielded the band’s most infectious single to date: the woozy sing-along “Dang If We Didn’t.” Written, as is most of the album, by Johnston and Mason (here, with Jonathan Singleton; other times with songwriters like Laura Veltz and Angelo Petraglia), “Dang If We Didn’t” teases fans with its ambiguous title, before revealing what the guys actually did in the chorus: get drunk last night.

“When you’re a songwriter, you can be critical of song titles,” says Johnston. “But with ‘Dang If We Didn’t,’ I thought it was a little bit mysterious. It makes you wonder, ‘Dang if we didn’t do what?'”

“Eat pizza last night,” quips Mason. “It could be anything.”

“American Slang” rivals “Dang If We Didn’t” in its grandeur. It’s a huge song, akin to Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin'” or The Cadillac Three’s own “Graffiti,” off BURY ME IN MY BOOTS. Lori McKenna (Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush”) began writing the tune with the intention of having The Cadillac Three finish it. “We are vampires on Hollywood Boulevard / angels and sinners of our hometown streets,” go the lyrics, painting a picture of life’s rebels, before a massive country-radio chorus kicks in: “We are the back roads, dirty water shore banks…we are born and raised on American slang.”

The constant throughout LEGACY, however, lies in the players: as on all three of The Cadillac Three’s albums, only Johnston, Mason and Ray are the musicians. There’s no guest keyboard player, no second percussionist and certainly no bassist. Ray holds down the low end on his lap steel.

Especially on the standout LEGACY track “Take Me to the Bottom,” which features Johnston reaching high for a breathtaking falsetto. “‘Take Me to the Bottom’ has the best bass sound of anything I’ve ever done,” says Ray, who also keeps things greasy on the intense “Tennessee.” A thrashing love song, it evokes the stomp of ZZ Top – a favorite of TC3 – and features a lyrical shout-out to progressive country hero Sturgill Simpson, a kindred spirit of the band.

No matter the influence, though, the trio stays faithful to their own unique sound throughout LEGACY. “Hank & Jesus” glides along with Tennessee twang; “Demolition Man” is distinguished by the space between the notes; and the swaggering “Cadillacin'” is a band anthem. “We don’t put anything on our albums that we can’t re-create live,” says Mason. “If there is a TC3 rule, it’s that: keep it honest.”

Honesty, or authenticity, is a favorite buzzword around Nashville. But few artists come to it as naturally as The Cadillac Three. These guys couldn’t fake it if they tried. In the album’s title track, they offer a heart-on-the-sleeve testimony to what’s really important at the end of one’s days: love and a family tree.

When Mason and Ray heard “Legacy,” co-written by Johnston, they flipped, and pushed for it to be the title of the record. “We’re far enough along in our careers where doing an album called LEGACY doesn’t feel presumptuous to me,” says Mason.

Not when you run through The Cadillac Three’s milestones. It’s all there, from boundary-pushing albums, Grammy-nominated No. 1 songwriting across genres and fan-favorite singles to sold-out club shows and massive festival gigs alongside Aerosmith.

“With this album, we’re continuing to build this thing we’ve created. We’re touring nonstop, headlining shows in the U.K., playing the Ryman, and putting out a new record,” says Johnston. “Shit, that’s a pretty good legacy so far.”

Country duo Montgomery Gentry evoked the sound and spirit of Southern rockers like Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, and Charlie Daniels, painting themselves as rowdy redneck rebels who still held small-town values. Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry first played together in Early Tymz, a Lexington, Kentucky band led by Montgomery’s brother, future country star John Michael Montgomery. Both Eddie and Troy had been performing on the local club scene since their teenage years, the former as a drummer in his father’s band. After Early Tymz broke up, a new group called Young Country formed from its ashes, with John Michael billed out front. He eventually went solo, of course, and Montgomery Gentry first formed not long after, initially calling themselves Deuce.

After playing around Lexington for a time, Montgomery Gentry landed a deal with Columbia thanks to a showcase performance. Their debut album, Tattoos & Scars, was released in 1999 and made the country Top Ten on the strength of the Top 20 singles “Hillbilly Shoes” and “Daddy Won’t Sell the Farm,” plus the Top Five smash “Lonely and Gone” and the Charlie Daniels collaboration “All Night Long.” They were named the CMA’s Duo of the Year in 2000, breaking a run of eight consecutive years by Brooks & Dunn. In 2001, the follow-up album Carrying On was released; it also made the country Top Ten and produced the number two smash “She Couldn’t Change Me.” A third album, My Town, was completed quickly and released in 2002, bringing the duo their third Top Five hit in the title track.

The hard-driving You Do Your Thing arrived in 2004, followed by the greatest-hits collection Something to Be Proud Of: The Best of 1999-2005 in November of 2005. Some People Change appeared from Columbia Records in 2006, followed by Back When I Knew It All in early 2008. It all amounted to a pretty successful track record, with a dozen or more of their singles since 1999, plus all of their studio albums, entering the Top Ten charts (as did the greatest-hits collection). The duo’s eighth studio album, Gravel Road, appeared in 2010. The Michael Knox-produced Rebels on the Run, the duo’s first album for new label Average Joe’s Entertainment, appeared in 2011; it debuted at nine on the Billboard country charts. A digital-only EP called Friends and Family showed up in October 2012, and after two years of solid touring the duo signed to Blaster Records and released the full-length Folks Like Us in June 2015.

Amidst plans for the release of Montgomery Gentry’s ninth studio album in 2017, Troy Gentry was killed in a New Jersey helicopter crash on September 8th of that year, shortly before a scheduled concert by the duo. He was 50 years old. Here’s to You, the album completed prior to Gentry’s death, saw release on February 2, 2018. By that point, Eddie Montgomery had laid plans to continue touring and recording under the name Montgomery Gentry. ~ Steve Huey & Steve Leggett, Rovi

Morgan Wallen Live at The Bluestone

He’s a passionate singer with a unique sound, who grew up in Appalachia, and you’ll be hearing a lot more of MORGAN WALLEN before 2017 is over. Currently out supporting Florida Georgia Line’s explosive DIG YOUR ROOTS TOUR, followed by select dates on THE SMOOTH TOUR 2017, he is climbing Country radio with his Top 30 “The Way I Talk” on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and has racked up over 7 million Spotify streams (and counting). Offering up the first real taste of his Big Loud Records EP – also titled THE WAY I TALK – Wallen’s drawling, fun-loving anthem penned by hit-makers Ben Hayslip, Chase McGill and Jessi Alexander, plays off the young star’s dynamic vocal delivery and features a sound straight out of the modern South, combining elements of both country and rock

Back when Wallen moved to Nashville in July 2015, he was not sure what he would find, but convinced that he should at least give his dreams a legitimate shot. Less than a year later, he’d already been signed to Big Loud Records, recorded some initial tracks with producer Joey Moi (Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen) and hit the road on his first radio promotion tour.

It might appear that Wallen’s on the fast track, but it took him a while to get there. Born in Sneedville, Tennessee (a town that also lays claim as the birthplace of bluegrass pioneer Jimmy Martin), to a hard-rock-lovin’ preacher and contemporary-Christian-devoted teacher, he showed his musical interests early, singing in front of the local congregation at age three and asking for a violin for his fifth birthday. He would soon switch to piano and later add guitar to his arsenal, though he never really imagined it was possible to make a career of it.

“I didn’t think that was realistic because I had no clue about how the music business worked,” Wallen admits. “Even living three hours away, I had no idea about Nashville.”

Instead, he focused his efforts on baseball and he was pretty good at it. Playing shortstop and pitcher for Gibbs High School in Corryton – the same school where Kenny Chesney graduated. Wallen earned an offer to continue playing at a major college.

But fate intervened. While pitching during his senior year, he felt a pop in his right elbow and would undergo a tendon replacement procedure. While he was able to continue playing guitar and piano, it proved to be the end of his baseball career.

“Looking back, I’m glad it happened the way it did, because I really actually loved music more than I ever did baseball,” he shares.

The kind of music almost didn’t matter. Rock, hip-hop, country – he loved it all,

particularly the emotional connection that it created between the musician and the listener. But when he wrote, the music was invariably country.

“Writing music was a way for me to get my feelings out,” he explains. “I don’t really express my feelings very much and I guess it was just a way for me to let some of that go. It’s my safe place.”

During extended time in California, Wallen met Sergio Sanchez, the lead singer and writer for Jive Records’ hard-rock band Atom Smash. While Sanchez initially served as Wallen’s vocal coach, they hit it off and started co-writing regularly back in Knoxville. Sanchez brought the music to the attention of producer Paul Trust and partner Bill Ray, who in turn produced an initial batch of songs. From there, things moved quickly. Wallen’s managers, Dirk Hemsath and Mike Bachta of Working Group Artist Management, set him up to play for William Morris Endeavor’s Kevin Neal, agent for Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line. Neal signed him on the spot. Hemsath and Bachta next sent demos to Big Loud Shirt’s Seth England, hoping to land some co-writing opportunities with songwriters at the publishing company. England was so impressed that he brought Wallen in to audition for his partners in Big Loud Records: Craig Wiseman, Clay Hunnicutt, Kevin “Chief” Zaruk and Joey Moi. They signed Wallen to both the label and the publishing company.

Wallen started woodshedding as a songwriter, working with the likes of Wiseman (“Live Like You Were Dying”), Rodney Clawson (“Dirt”), Chris Tompkins (“Drunk On A Plane”), the Warren Brothers (“Highway Don’t Care”), Tommy Cecil (“Home Alone Tonight”) and Matt Dragstrem (“Sippin’ On Fire”). Meanwhile, Big Loud Records proved that it was big-league – while Wallen worked on his own music, the label’s first-ever single, Chris Lane’s “Fix,” shot to #1, an unheard-of start for a brand-new label.

Wallen hopes to build a similar story. His end goal is to continue to be onstage, making that emotional connection with his distinctive sound, as well as releasing his anticipated forthcoming debut album of Big Loud Records.

“We’ve just really been trying to get the focus on the music,” he concludes. “If we don’t have that, then there’s no point in playing.”

3LAU approaches electronic dance music from many unconventional angles. The artist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and entrepreneur born Justin Blau usually begins his compositions on the piano.

“I like to create the framework for a song traditionally and then add the electronic elements later.” It’s a style he’s been cultivating since childhood. Commencing piano lessons at the age of three, he’ll tell you that he couldn’t go to sleep without classical music as a kid. His tastes began to veer towards the likes of Radiohead and Sigur Ros in high school as he taught himself guitar, bass, and drums. During his sophomore year of college, he took a trip to Sweden and fell in love with electronic dance music. Upon returning home, 3LAU began creating.

Taking a leave from college in his junior year, he became a favorite on the club scene through relentless touring, initially turning heads with his innovative mashups. His 2014 original single “How You Love Me” [feat. Bright Lights] dominated radio and closed out 2014 as SiriusXM BPM’s “Most Played Record of the Year.” More recently, Justin realized that he wanted to do more with music, so he launched Blume—the “first not-for-profit dance music label and philanthropic movement.”

With over 5 original releases through BLUME, 3LAU was able to raise 200,000 for Pencils of Promise in 2016, and in 2017 he continues to give to different charities with each new release. For both 3LAU and BLUME it’s just the beginning.

Houser503x (2)Country singer and songwriter Randy Houser was born and raised in Lake, Mississippi, where his love of music was apparent even as a young child. Houser started fronting bands when he was around 13 years old, and continued playing local gigs all the way through high school. While attending East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi, he realized playing music had its financial rewards as well, and he began working on his songwriting. He also formed 10lb. Biscuit, and the band was well received on the local circuit.

Houser relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 2002, and landed a song publishing deal. One of his songs, “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” became a big hit for Trace Adkins in 2005, and he also wrote tunes for Justin Moore, John Michael Montgomery, Jessie James, and many more. Houser began concentrating more on the performing side of things and started playing more local gigs, which eventually led to a record deal with Universal Records South. The label released his debut single, “Anything Goes,” written by Brice Long and John Wayne Wiggins, in May of 2008, followed later in the year by a debut album, named for the first single. Thanks to the Top Ten country single “Boots On,” the album performed well, peaking at 21 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and Houser returned in 2010 with his second album, They Call Me Cadillac. The album peaked at eight on the Billboard Country Albums chart but none of the record’s singles turned into hits, nor did the non-LP “I’m All About It.”

After They Call Me Cadillac, Houser left Show Dog/Universal and signed with Stoney Creek Records, releasing How Country Feels in January of 2013. The title track became a hit single that topped out at number one on the Country Airplay chart, and How Country Feels produced three more singles, “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” “Goodnight Kiss,” and “Like a Cowboy,” the latter peaking at number five on the Country Singles chart. In 2015, Houser toured extensively as Luke Bryan’s opening act and dropped a new single, “We Went,” in anticipation of Fired Up, Houser’s second album for Stoney Creek. Fired Up saw release in March 2016. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi

America’s bona fide band of brothers A Thousand Horses deliver an authentic fusion of Southern rock and contemporary Country mixed with rowdy jams. Their 13-track project BRIDGES features working man’s anthem “Preachin’ to the Choir” along with seven acoustic tracks, six of which were recorded live in the U.K. at the famed Metropolis Studios. The group’s debut single “Smoke” made Country Aircheck history as the highest debut for a new artist and solidified the band (with at least three members) as the first this decade to score a #1 with their first single on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart. A Thousand Horses have landed multiple awards show nominations, most recently vying for the title of ACM New Vocal Duo or Group at the 52nd Annual ACM Awards. The band’s debut album, SOUTHERNALITY, blends Southern Rock and influential sounds of The Black Crowes and Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street era. The talented foursome soars with Michael Hobby on lead vocals as Bill Satcher and Zach Brown on guitar and Graham Deloach on bass round out their unique grooves. After opening for Country powerhouse Jason Aldean and a string of performances in the U.K. last fall, A Thousand Horses are currently headlining shows across the U.S. before kicking off their opening run on Kid Rock’s AMERICAN ROCK n ROLL TOUR 2018 in January. New music from the band is on the horizon, with details coming soon. For more information and tour dates, visit AThousandHorses.com.
